I <3 Steak & Eggs

The thought of a mall playground scares me...the germs, oh the germs. But we found ourselves at Willow Bend Mall over the weekend and we had been trapped inside for several days due to the rain and letting Blake run around sounded like a fabulous idea. And besides, being at a "higher end mall" means "higher end germs", right??? Yeah, not so much, but I forced myself not to think about it and let Blake run wild. I have to admit this playground is pretty friggin cool. The floor is cushiony and you almost bounce on it when you walk and the "playground" is made up of giant plastic, yet still somewhat cushiony, foods. Blake's favorite was the steak and eggs. At first he was very unsure of playing on giant food, but soon he was the happiest I had seen him in days and cried when it was time to leave. The pictures of him were too cute not to share...

Showering Baby

First I should probably give an update from the doctor on Tuesday since I did promise one! We loved getting to see baby again. He is looking healthy which is great and looking at his face, it appears like he has chubby little cheeks like Mr. Blake and made Brad and I so excited to meet him in person. He was weighing 5 lbs 12 oz which is about a week ahead of schedule and his head was measuring even larger. After talking to the doctor we agreed when I go back Tuesday (I start going weekly now) she will start checking if I've dilated and if I have we will schedule an induction date at that time. So most likely little Jonesie will be here sometime between now and 3 1/2 weeks from now. I can not believe how soon that is!!!! Sadly, I still have no nursery pictures, but they are coming soon...I promise.
I had been looking forward to Saturday for several weeks. We were getting to celebrate the arrival of this little guy and I was going to get to have an evening out, with the mommy hat off (thanks grandma & grandpa for babysitting), enjoying time with a bunch of my friends that I don't always get to see as often as I would like to. My girlfriends Kristen, Kristin and Breck (and husbands) were the hosts of the couples shower and everything was so wonderful. I had so much fun and ate some amazing food. Kristen even remembered me saying the cookies she brought me in the hospital after I had Blake were the best cookies I had ever had and had them at the shower! We also left with a hearty supply of diapers to get us going which is so appreciated by Brad and I. I wasn't the best picture taker...I didn't get a picture of one of the hostesses, Kristen (although I did of her babies!) and I didn't get a picture with my husband. But that just goes to show I was having too good of a time to take lots of pictures. Here are a few though that were snapped....

At the end of the party as everyone was leaving Kristen's 5 month old twin babies came back home from their sitter's and were too cute to not snap a few photos of.

Thanks to everyone for making the shower so special for Brad and I. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends.

Breaking the Silence

I have been horrible lately at taking pictures which is one reason I've been so bad about posting lately. The other is we've been busy preparing for baby, having a blast with Blake, taking care of a sick Blake and then having more fun again. I have to say I absolutely adore the age/stage Blake is at right now. He makes our time with him so much fun. He is such a sponge and has started repeating words that Brad and I say which makes things a little more interesting as well! Blake came down with an icky virus towards the end of the week but luckily by Sunday he was doing a lot better and well enough to make a visit to Grandma and Grandpa's. It's hard to believe we went two whole weeks with out seeing them! Blake was so excited to spend the day with two of his favorite people. We even tested out our new purchase...Blake's first floatie. He wasn't too crazy over it, he seemed to prefer walking laps around the pool with Grandpa, but he did have some water fun.

I am very excited about this coming week. Tomorrow we have a doctor appointment and get to have a sonogram and see our baby boy on screen again! We're having the sonogram to get the fetal weight of baby to determine if we will need to induce early like we did with Blake. I am so excited to see baby AND even more so to see if we'll get a better idea on when we can expect to meet our little guy!!
Then on Saturday night several of my great friends are throwing Brad and I a couples shower in honor of Baby Jones. I am really looking forward to spending time with all my friends and getting to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby!
We are getting closer and closer to having the nursery complete, which means there will be photos most likely in the coming week of the finished room. I love how it is looking. My belly is also getting bigger and bigger it is ridiculous. After my appointment tomorrow I will post a picture of my expanding belly and an update on baby.
Hope all of you had a safe and fun long weekend!!

How could you not love this face?!

Photobucket
My Aunt Rhonda was in town this past week and took this adorable picture of Mr. Blake. Could that face be any sweeter? We had a wonderful time visiting with Aunt Rhonda albeit a bit tiring. I was so grateful she was able to spend some time with us and get to know Blake even better. We're hoping she'll be back in just a blink of an eye when baby # 2 arrives!!
By the way, Aunt R took us to buy Blake some new shoes and when they measured his foot he had grown a size and half in 3 months time! Blake's shoe size is a half size LARGER than my friend's son who is a year older! What a big boy we have!
Brad and I are in crunch time mode trying to get everything ready in baby's room and around the house in any spare time we can find. It has not been easy finding the time and/or the energy to accomplish what we need, but at least after this weekend the painting is complete!! It looks great and I can't wait until the nursery is finished. Next on our agenda is putting together the crib and starting to decorate the walls. Brad and I are getting beyond excited for baby to arrive and to get to meet our son. And I am beyond ready to be done with the extreme pain I am now under!
